Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker blends her passion for education with her experience in nonprofit governance and over 20 years of business leadership, as the President & CEO of Colorado State University-Global.

CSU-Global is the nation’s first and only 100% online, fully accredited, state, nonprofit university, which currently serves over 20,000 nontraditional, modern students of which 16% are military-affiliated, 38% are first in their families to attend college, and 28% are from underserved minority populations.

Opened to students in 2008, CSU-Global has completed over 18,000 students to-date with their Bachelor’s and Master’s certificates and degrees; and currently provides access, affordability, and flexibility to nontraditional learners located in every U.S. state and territory and 60 countries. The university’s exemplary data in student retention, learning outcomes achievement, nationwide normed assessment performance, and alumni salaries, demonstrate its global leadership and its expertise in academic excellence measured by student return-on-investment.

Becky is a published scholar with expertise in finance, leadership, and business management research studies, and author of the book, Impacting The Future of Higher Education, which details CSU-Global’s model for serving modern learners.  She has also been named as one of Five Higher Ed Leaders to Watch by Education Dive, a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts, and a PowerBook Thought Leader by the Denver Business Journal. She also currently serves on the Colorado Economic Development Commission, as a Peer Reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges & Schools; and as a Board member for Haselden Construction, CollegeTrack Colorado, and the Women’s Forum of Colorado.

She holds a Ph.D. in Organization and Management with a specialization in Leadership; a Masters of Business Administration in Finance; a post-graduate certificate in marketing management; and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
