Mysia Perry is an Oldham Scholar in her junior year at the University of Richmond majoring in American Studies and minoring in Sociology and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Originally from Richmond, VA, she has expressed an interest in higher education since high school. She has worked at the VA Office of the Governor under Secretary of Education Anne Holton and at the VA Dept. of Education in the Office of the Superintendent. As a queer, first-generation, female, student of color, her interests lie on the intersections of marginalized students and how those intersections affect their educational experiences. Through education policy, Mysia hopes to contribute to a more equitable and affordable education for all that desire to pursue one.
