Martín Moreno is a member of the LEDA Policy Corps. He hails from beautiful Phoenix, Arizona and is a sophomore at Georgetown University majoring in Government and minoring in Education, Inquiry, and Justice. As a Hoya, he has followed through with his passion for social justice, especially as it relates to equity in education. Outside the classroom, he spends most of his time working for a community based organization he founded called GU LULAC – Georgetown University’s League of United Latin American Citizens. A son of immigrants himself, Martín is highly involved serving as the Chair of GU LULAC’s Executive Board in order to pay it forward to the Latino community in the D.C. area. As a first generation low income college student, Martín finds it fascinating to be a research analyst within the U.S. Department of Education for the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics. In his free time, Martín loves to meditate at Georgetown’s John Main Center for Meditation, play video games with friends, and catch up with his family.
