Gayatri Agnew is a Senior Director with Walmart Giving. She leads strategy and grantmaking for the economic opportunity portfolio. This includes investments in economic mobility in retail, veteran’s reintegration, diversity and inclusion, and US manufacturing.
Prior to joining Walmart, Gayatri worked in philanthropy and held roles in the public sector and in higher education. Her career has focused on education, workforce, and economic development with an emphasis on pathways to opportunity for all.
As the daughter of a single mom and a teacher who obtained her teaching degree as a working adult – She is personally dedicated to improving access to learning for all Americans and to ensuring this learning connects people to good jobs. She committed to building strong communities. She serves on the development committee for the Helen Walton Children’s Enrichment Center, the national advisory board for Vote Mama PAC and is a founding board member of Emerge Arkansas. She is a former trustee of the Seattle Community Colleges and a former board member of the Center for Women and Democracy.
