Ashley supports Higher Learning Advocates’ policy priorities as a Policy Fellow. Currently, she is a graduate student earning her master’s degree at the University of Maryland – College Park in the higher education concentration. Ashley has interned at the Lumina Foundation and New America, bringing a multifaceted perspective on higher education policy and a passion for equity to the HLA team. In addition to her fellowship, she also serves as the Advocacy Coordinator for the Graduate Student Government at the University of Maryland, advising on grassroots advocacy tactics and student engagement strategies at the state and national level. Prior to beginning her graduate program, Ashley served as a Teach For America recruiter and corps member as well as a Fulbright grantee in the Slovak Republic.
