Sarah joined Higher Learning Advocates in July 2022. As the daughter of educators, they feel passionate about education’s capacity to shape and transform lives.
Before joining HLA, Sarah was a U.S. Fulbright grantee in Spain. They taught English to secondary school students and coordinated the school’s Model United Nations program. They also worked as an editorial associate at Giffords: Courage to Fight Gun Violence where they edited and produced written content and supported the communications team.
Sarah is originally from Pembroke Pines, Florida, and moved to Washington in 2017. They attended American University and received a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies with concentrations in communication, legal institutions, economics, and government. They are multilingual and speak English, Spanish, and a bit of Haitian Creole. Outside of work, you can find them reading, “brunching/happy houring”, or visiting a Smithsonian.
